If you’ve been having trouble finding a dance partner then you’ll want to check out what Sega and Hasbro has to offer as a solution. We reported earlier this week that Sega introduced a 15 inch robot girlfriend that is supposed to be marketed toward lonely Japanese men. So, I guess it is not a great leap to hear that Sega in partnership with Hasbro has developed another robot that knows how to get down.

AFP is reporting that the dancing robot is 2.4 feet tall, has stereo speakers and turntable shaped hands which can actually be used for “scratching”. The robot is called the Automated Music Personality or A.M.P for short. An owner can connect their MP3 player or iPod to A.M.P and watch the good times roll. Of course, the robot will truly be rolling since it stands on two wheels and can even bob its head as LED lights flash. A.M.P will be sold in the U.S. and Japan beginning in November and will retail for US$745.

Um, for US$745 I think I can get one kicking stereo system. That being said, I would personally pass on the robot. That’s not to say there isn’t any Star Wars or Buck Rogers fans out there that have always wanted to have their own robot.
