Toshiba launches in spring M780 tablet PC

Toshiba Portégé M780 announced markets in Europe and Africa this spring. The product can be considered as a tablet PC with a multi touch screen of 12.1 inches (30 cm) and resolution 1200 × 800 pixels, which can be rotated, and a notebook keyboard that comes with Windows 7 installed, optimized for touch. As hard evidence, M780 containing the new Core Core i3 and i5.

Samsung gives start to the production of 3D TV

It was natural that, after Sony has promised it will filming football World Cup this year with 3D technology and 3D Avatar made waves around the world, to witness the exponential growth of the segment’s 3D LCD TVs. So the people at Samsung, always thirsty for marketing records, are the first, they say, starting the production of 3D TV.

Initially, Samsung will produce three types of TVs: 40, 46 and 55 inches. All three versions will be based 3D technology assets Glass, the current standard in the field.

Surely, Samsung will be the only manufacturer that will take 3D TV segment. Will be followed closely and other sharks.

Most of the Samsung not talked price yet. It is clear however that 3D TVs are not very cheap, at least initially. If you appear on the market for World Cup, 3D TV manufacturers, including Samsung, will officially come to head up the crisis.

Kingston SSDNow V+ doubles its storage capacity

Kingston this week launched the second generation of hard drives SSDNow V+ with a 512GB storage capacity, twice the existing model. The new storage solution offers a higher speed, of 230MBps read and 180MBps for writing.

SSDNow V+ 512GB includes the TRIM technology, which ensure that those rates throughout the life of the product. What time? SSDNow V + is designed to provide a lifetime of 1 million hours MTBF period (Mean Time Between failures).

Series SSDNow V+ is available in choice of 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, with a U.S. market price from 268 dollars to 1985 dollars.

Apple is preparing to bring out a new product spotlight probably nothing more than the long-awaited computer-sized tablets. At least so I think journalists throughout the world.

The company sent invitations to a series of press “to see our latest creation, which could even be the most eagerly awaited product launch Apple iPhone, three years ago. At a time of flourishing of e-reader-s, tablet computer from Apple would bring surprise color, I think journalists of the New York Times. Kindle and other e-reader’s top technology using E-Ink is Black.

Hydrogen R/C Car Model Kit

The Hydrogen R/C Car Model Kit might just fit the bill then, where this latest prototype hydrogen fuel cell power kit was specially designed around Tamiya’s TRF 416 carbon fiber chassis. It is still in the prototype stage at point of publishing, so you won’t see it hit the stores anytime soon although we’re pretty sure that enthusiasts can’t wait for an official release. A couple of HydroSTIKs are able to carry around 15Wh of energy or 13L of hydrogen, where they are integrated to the fuel cell electric power-train on either side of the chassis which results in enhanced weight distribution for the car. Bear in mind the TRF-416 chassis is available as an assembly kit and will not ship with wheels, a brushless motor, a speed controller, a servo-motor, receiver and transmitter, as all of those can be purchased separately from your local hobby shop.

Intel has started to ship the 40GB SSD drives

Intel’s 40GB X25-V Value line solid state drive begins shipping, and is now available for purchase from Amazon, among other online electronics retailers. The drive, like the Kingston unit from earlier today, is meant to speed up a system by putting the operating system onto it, while other files reside on a traditional hard drive. Unlike the Kingston SSD, however, Intel’s is slightly slower with sustained write speeds of 35MBps and read speeds of 170MBps.

The drive is otherwise capable of random 4KB reads up to 25K IOPS, and the same amount of writes up to 2.5K IOPS. It consumes 150mW when active and half of that at idle. Durability is rated at 1.2 million hours of mean time between failures.

The 40GB Intel SSD’s role as a system boot drive is mirrored in it’s cost, as it’s priced is just over $120 on Amazon.

Last year was pretty quiet for Clickfree, but it is clear that 2010 will begin in force for the company. Portable backup drive C2N works for any computer on the network – and the home and office – and can automatically back up on all machinery – Macs and PCs. The device connects via USB to each computer on the network and is left attached to any, to be automatically back on all your computers. There is a limit, of course, because all have a limit. In this case the maximum is between 250GB and 640GB of information in the backup. However, the company promises that this year we already see more capacity models.

The following model is Transformer Network Edition, which is suitable for external USB hard drives and works just like C2N. The difference is in the space of only 16GB. Of course, this difference is reflected in price. Transformer will cost $ 100, from C2N, which will be sold for $ 160 (250GB), 180 (320GB), 200 (500GB) and $ 220 (640GB).

New Gadget: YoGen Hand Powered Charger

Tashanna sent me a link to a really cool product that is coming soon. It is a hand powered charger called the YoGen that you charge by repeatedly pulling a cord. They describe the motion as similar to a Yo-Yo string. While the self retracting cord is pulled an alternator continuously spins generating power to charge your phone.

It has a built in 650mAh battery which you charge by pulling. It then has a MiniUSB connector to charge your phone. Sadly I could not find any information on how many times you need to pull the cord to make a significant charge. I remember BlackBerry Cool reviewed such a device a bit back and they had to crank it for 15 minutes for it to make a dent.

I just found out that a company called Optoma has just introduced the first Pico projector based on the DLP (Digital Light Processing) Pico chipset. This projector isn’t just for the iPhone or that snazzy iPhone 3G, but it is designed for any mobile device including iPods, PDAs, smart phones, and digital cameras.

According to the company, this is a “world’s first”, and will allow users to share photos and videos with a projected image that is 100 times bigger than that of their normal screen. Best of all, this projector is small enough to fit in a user’s shirt pocket.
